Sustainability Solutions

More than a 4 years of project experience spanning the nationwide

We have delivered highly complex projects, in some of the most challenging environments, contributing to the evolution of the engineering industry, the job skills, and the economic well-being of people on multiple continents. We use a full-spectrum approach to develop, design, build, operate, and decommission projects. Environmental, social, economic, and quality factors are integrated into our projects to promote positive, lasting effects from our projects and operations.

Master planning

KDN performs feasibility studies, engineering/Maintenance and design work, and management processes to execute comprehensive infrastructure projects and regional initiatives that build local and national economies and promote community development. Enhancing the technical capabilities of local professionals to build, operate, and manage these national initiatives—for the long term—is our hallmark.

KDN brings an optimize-and-maximize approach when beginning work in a particular area, tailoring the approach to local conditions and concerns. We identify clusters of existing capacities to support a new project, including skilled craft workers, vocational training institutions and local equipment and technology. We then conduct customized programs that maximize the participation of local workers and suppliers in construction work, thereby building experience and enhancing local skills. Because every context is unique, these efforts modernize workforces and help small businesses to be competitive in future opportunities—whether with KDN or other projects.

Facilities operation and management

KDN operates and maintains several major national facilities and government laboratories. This includes a range of management solutions for our government customers, including processes for energy efficiency.

Risk management

Issues can arise during a project that trigger immediate and long-term impacts on customers and communities, as well as affect the quality of project delivery. KDN implements three interrelated processes to promote the positive effects of a project during construction and operations: using risk assessment and management disciplines to identify issues, conducting stakeholder engagement, and making strategic social investments in the community.

Site management

In many parts of the Pakistan, KDN projects can attract significant numbers of workers, especially in areas where a project is a rare opportunity for employment. Our early planning and systematic approach to establishing the labor force helps to avoid the effects of unmanaged workforce influx, which can trigger conflict and other socioeconomic tensions locally or regionally. KDN’s workforce and camp management program is based on consultation with our customer, government authorities, our workforce, and our communities. This process enables us to select the optimal site location and identify community issues, demographics, and cultures to avoid potential conflicts while maximizing the camp’s positive effects on host communities.

Performance standards alignment

Concurrent with increasing regulatory requirements, there is a growing constellation of sustainability institutions shaping our customers’ markets nationally. Because our policies, processes, and practices are consistent with key international standards, we help our customers meet and exceed any specific performance requirements, including those of the International Finance Corporation, the Equator Principles, United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

In addition, in every part of the country and on every project, we supplement existing environmental, safety, and health regulations with additional best practices and KDN requirements, which commonly enhance local knowledge and help improve local standards.
